Pachter predicts pricey Xbox Live (Ferrago)

Costs will rise in the future – says exec Speaking online this week with Bonus Round , Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said that Xbox Live won’t be as cheap in the future. Indeed, the industry soothsayer says that it will one day cost from “50 to a 100 bucks”, probably within the next year or two.

Xbox Live’s 100 friend limit blamed on Halo 2 support (Geek.com)

Not a fan of the 100-friend limit on Xbox Live? Blame the kid down the street still playing Halo 2 for the original Xbox. The online service, which originally launched during Microsoft’s first console generation, was designed to handle no more than 100 friends.

Xbox Live grew a notch Tuesday with the release of several updates to the service. The new features include the ability to download complete video games and play them without a disc, expanded capabilities for Netflix movies, new ways to make your avatar snappier, and an better rating ability.
