Microsoft “conveniently” waited until after the launch of two of Xbox 360’s biggest holiday titles before banning up to one million consoles from accessing its online gaming service, says a law firm that specializes in consumer class action lawsuits.

The Xbox Live service may be pulling in record numbers of users, but the company wants to draw even more gamers into the online gaming world, as Microsoft has announced that starting this at Friday at 9AM PST, all Xbox Live Silver users will have three days of complete Gold privileges.

Xbox Live bans up to one million users (Newsday)

Microsoft has banned as many as one million users with modded Xbox 360’s from the online gaming Xbox Live service in a bid to counter piracy. The ban from the Xbox Live service is reported to affect anywhere between 600,000 to one million Xbox 360 users.
